The Oklahoma City Jr. Blazers and Head Coach Gary Gill announced today that the team will be calling Arctic Edge Ice Arena their new home for the 2018-19 season.

During the scheduling process for the 18-19 WSHL season, multiple conflicts became apparent between the available home dates and other events being held at the Blazers Ice Centre, forcing the move.

"From the organization's standpoint, our main concern this season was securing dates and times that were convenient for our fans," said coach Gary Gill. "Unfortunately, we weren't able to obtain that within the BIC due to the single sheet of ice, and the move to Arctic Edge was given to us."

After calling the BIC home for four seasons, the Blazers make the move for their fifth anniversary season. This won't be the first time that the Blazers have played within the confines of Arctic Edge, as conflicts last season moved the Blazers north for three games, of which OKC won all three. Due to existing conflicts with the University of Central Oklahoma hockey team, a couple select games will take place at Blazers Ice Centre this season.

Arctic Edge is located in the north Oklahoma City metro at 14613 N Kelly Ave in Edmond.

"Our focus as a staff right now is moving our operations to Arctic as quickly as possible, as we make the final preparations for training camp coming up," continued Gill. "Once everything is settled, our focus will turn to our Season Ticket Holders and the Booster Club to make the needed adjustments to accommodate all."

Plans are being made to invite Season Ticket Holders to Arctic Edge for a Pick-Your-Seat night. "With the change in venues comes a change in seating arrangements. We want to ensure our Season Ticket Holders are able to secure the seating they want," said Gill. Season Ticket Holders will be contacted once the move has been completed.
