Bombers Vs. Mustangs, April 12, 2018 Recap

by Laura Cisneros

Continuing their two-day winning streak, the Ogden Mustangs beat the Long Beach Bombers four to two. After a scoreless first period both teams put up goals in the second. Ross Bartlett (F) from the Mustangs gave his team the momentum they needed by scoring the first goal of the afternoon.

“Scoring that first goal was massive for the guys, we came out of the gates slow in the first, and that goal fired the boys up” says Bartlett.

Going into the third period the Bombers put up another goal, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Mustang stampede. The Mustangs came into the third ready to play scoring three goals. This win put the Mustangs as the lone 2-0 team heading into day 3 of the Thorne Cup Finals. They Mustangs have also clinched a spot in the semifinals which will beginning April 14, 2018 at 2 P.M.

“Clinching a spot in the semis is nice, but our team as a whole wants to end this tournament 5-0” Says Bartlett.

The Long Beach Bombers will face the Idaho IceCats tomorrow morning April 13th, at 10 A.M. Both teams will look for a chance to clinch their spot in the Semifinals.

“Tomorrow is a new day and a new opportunity to win a game. If we play our game, we can win without any troubles” Says Bomber Lukas Moravsky.
