Carter Dahl Q&A

by Jon McBride

Colorado Jr. Eagles captain and 5th year WSHL player Carter Dahl recently sat down for a live Q&A on the WSHL 365 Facebook page where he talked about how his team is coming together this season, In-n-Out Double Doubles, what to expect in a battle for supremacy in the Mountain Division for what should be a wild second half of the season, his plans after this season and more.

See the full thread here.

Some highlights:

On how the Eagles is looking this season …

“Overall this team is looking very strong for just passing the halfway mark, and it especially helped to end the first half on a good note. We're skilled, we're deep, and we're all buying in to every game. I love the group of guys we have and we are looking to go all the way!”

On the difference between playing in the Western Division (three seasons with Fresno) vs. the Mountain Division (second season with Colorado) …

“The biggest difference I see would be an overall increase in talent throughout the whole league. There is a difference in play between our divisions but that comes along with the different types of rivalries we have.”

On the best teams he’s faced this season …

“I would say El Paso is the deepest team we have played this year, but talent-wise I will have to give that to the IceCats.”

On the Eagles’ rivalry with the Mustangs …

“I love our matchups against Ogden every year, so I always look forward to playing them. The team I dread playing against, would also be Ogden. There are never any boring games against that team.”

On the battle between the Eagles, Mustangs and Outliers for first place in the Mountain Division …

“This second half of the season for the Mountain Division should be on TV. Every single game is now extremely important to where there can't be any off nights for any of these teams. I love the rivalry we have in this division, and it will make for some exciting hockey coming up.”

On playing for head coach Steve Haddon …

“He is unlike any coach I've ever had. He's extremely great about creating a bond with each individual and finding out what makes us tick to help motivate us. On and off the ice, he is very personable and can create a confidence with each and every person he talks to, to be the best person they can be.”

On there being no In-N-Out Burger in Colorado …

“Please overnight the whole menu to me!!!!!! animal style fries please!!!!”

On his plans after aging out after this season …

“My momma is going to love seeing me wearing a cage and going to school! I do plan to go to school next year and for now I'm keeping my options open! Hopefully NCAA somewhere.”
