The Cold Lake Wings Junior ‘A’ Hockey Team Announces Johnathan Aitken As Their New General Manager and Head Coach 

 

Johnathan Aitken – a Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks alum – has signed on to guide the Cold Lake Wings and is preparing for the 2018-2019 Hockey Season. 

 

Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada  July 7, 2018:  The Cold Lake Wings are a recent addition to the Western Provinces Hockey Association (WPHA), the new Canadian division of the Western States Hockey League (WSHL). The league is proud to announce the acquisition of former NHL player, Johnathan Aitken as General Manager and Head Coach to helm the team in a strong hockey market.  Johnathan comes from an impressive hockey background – as a player as well as coaching, training and management. Drafted #8 overall in the 1 st round of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, Johnathan has played for both the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks from 1994-2007. He has been Head Coach for Minor/Midget hockey teams and NAA Chain Spring teams. He has also acted as sports agent for Kaizen Sports & Entertainment and the owner of Topshelf Hockey Training and Conditioning. The WPHA feels Mr. Aitkens background, his ongoing relationships with coaches and managers in NCAA and NHL hockey, coupled with his high-level success in the sport as a player will be effective and impactful for the young hockey players arriving in Cold Lake seeking career and skills development.
