Eagles Forward Marks Commits to Briercrest for 2019-2020 season
The Northern Colorado Eagles are proud to announce that veteran forward, Jarret Marks has committed to Briercrest College men's hockey program for the 2019-2020 season. Briercrest College plays in the Alberta College Athletic Conference (ACAC), Canada's premier college league. The ACAC is filled with hockey players from Tier ll Junior 'A' teams to ex-major junior hockey players (WHL).
The veteran forward spent only one season with the Eagles organization. Marks, a Sarnia, Ontario native, is coming off his best season of junior hockey, hitting career highs in all categories while producing 21 goals and 21 assists for 42 points in just 43 games.
"I had an unbelievable time with the Northern Colorado Eagles. I met a lot of great people that helped me all season, especially my billet family, the Bradshaw's. They gave me a home away from home. Coach Haddon challenged me to reach a new high in my game and I am thrilled to have this opportunity to play hockey at Briercrest College," said Marks, the veteran forward on closing out his junior hockey career.
The grizzled veteran played 185 games between the WSHL and the GOJHL, recording 52 goals and 63 assists for 115 points in a span over 4 seasons.
"The expectations for Jarret coming to our organization this season were very high. His adjustment took some time, but from November through April we watched Jarret grow his game and be one of our most consistent players night in and night out. I couldn't be more proud of Jarret and what he accomplished this season. I know Jarret will have great success at the next level and in life. The organization and I would like to thank Jarret for all his hard work on and off the ice and in the community. We wish him all the best in his next chapter," said Head Coach and GM Steve Haddon.
Marks is the 1st college commitment of the off-season. Stay tuned for more NCAA/CIS/ACAC/BICHL commitments and player signings as the off-season heats up.
The organization has a lot of work to do to be ready for September.
