Eagles Ink Top Forward Revniaga for 2018-2019 Season
The Northern Colorado Eagles are proud to announce the signing of top forward, Mark Revniaga, for the upcoming 2018-2019 season. Revniaga joins the Eagles organization after a very busy 2017-2018 season playing in EHL for the New York Apple Core producing 30 points in 41 games. The speedy forward was also on the world stage multiple times during the 2017-2018 campaign not only representing, but was named captain of Israel at the World Junior Championships (WJC-20D3). It was there where he played alongside Eagles forward, Tommy Ignatovich, as they helped their country capture a gold medal. While leading his country to gold, Revniaga led the WJC-20 in goals (11) and points (15) to be award Best Forward of the WJC-20 tournament.
"I was lucky enough to play with Mark at the World Junior Championships the last few years. He has very good hockey sense and the ability to make plays in the offensive zone. Winning a championship after years of being teammates was an unbelievable feeling. I am very excited to have the opportunity to experience that again," said Eagles veteran forward, Ignatovich about being re-united with his former teammate.
The 5'10", 170-pound center represented his country for a second time in the 2017-2018 season helping capture a bronze medal at the men's World Championships for Israel registering, 2-goals in 5 games back in May. "I am very excited to join the Eagles organization and I can't wait to get started," said Revniaga.
"I am very excited to have Mark join our organization. Mark is a dynamic forward who can create opportunities, but is responsible, defensively, and plays a 200-foot game. You add on what he has done internationally, not only being a leader, but also knowing how to win and compete. The advantage of Tommy and Mark having played together at a high level and had success is a great addition to our group," said Head Coach and GM, Steve Haddon.
Mark has represented Israel in OGQ-qualifying Round robin to help Israel get to the WJC-18D3A as well as WJC-20D3 and WCD2B in all international tournaments. He has played in 39 total games producing 37 goals and 19 assists for 56 points for his country.
The organization has a lot of work to do to be ready for September.
