Veteran Forward DuPont Returns for Final Season with Eagles

The Colorado Junior Eagles are proud to announce the signing and return of veteran forward, Ethan DuPont, for the 2018-2019 season. DuPont hails from Corunna, Ontario, Canada and joined the Eagles for the last 12 games of the regular season and into the playoff push for the Thorne Cup. DuPont has played in 125 games entering into his 5th season of junior hockey. The grizzled veteran has amassed 18 goals and 21 assists for 39 points in the GOJHL. "I am extremely excited to be coming back to Northern Colorado. I am really honored to be able to spend my last year of junior hockey with this great organization. I'm also excited to have an opportunity at a chance to win the Thorne Cup," DuPont said, enthusiastic to start the 2018-2019 campaign.

The 6'0, 180-pound forward has had solid success in the post season with the Eagles producing 4 points in 5 games registering 2 goals and 2 assists. The high energy forward is no stranger to post season success. DuPont earned playoff MVP honors with the Sarnia Legionnaires of the GOJHL in 2016-2017 post season.

"Ethan is a player that will be very important to our leadership group coming back. His experience, leadership and work ethic are three very strong intangibles that he brings to our team and organization. You could see how he was growing in our environment and getting better everyday. He is a gamer and a player that is hard to play against and makes it miserable for opponents, but as a player, you want him on your team, seeing how he stepped up in the post season. The bar is set high for him and I am excited to have a full season to work with Ethan and help him achieve his goals," said Head Coach, Steve Haddon.

DuPont was drafted in 2014 in the 12th round, number 231 overall, by Sudbury Wolves in the OHL Priority Selection

DuPont is the third signing announcement of the off-season. Stay tuned for more player signings and NCAA commitments as the off-season heats up. Want to play for the Colorado Junior Eagles? Email Coach Haddon if you're a player wanting to move on to the next level at
