Veteran Forward Eakett Excited About Return to Bellingham

The Bellingham Blazers are proud to announce the signing and return of veteran forward, Jamahl Eakett, for the 2018-2019 season. Eakett is from Provo, Utah and joined the Blazers in the 2016-2017 season. In his first season Eakett struggled to stay healthy, but Coach Collins saw the potential in the talented young man.

Entering his 3rd season of junior hockey, Eakett has played in 89 games. The powerful forward has amassed 54 goals and 56 assists for 110 points.

"I’m excited to come back because of the support we get from the community and the coaching staff. Our team is just so fun, you get to wake up every day and hang out with your brothers; it's a blessing! I'm excited to see where this year takes us," said Eakett, eager to start the 2018-2019 campaign.

The 5'11", 175 -pound forward had a lot of success in his first full season in Bellingham. His speed and power instantly separated himself from the pack during the season. He finished the season averaging 1.5 points per game. His physical play also set the tone for many games, but didn’t necessarily show on the scoresheet.

"Jamahl is a player that will be very important to our leadership group coming back. He's a player that will be relied on heavily both on and off the ice. I am excited to continue to help the growth of Jamahl and help him achieve his goals," said Head Coach/GM, Mark Collins.
