Veteran Forward Petrotto Returns for Final Season
The Northern Colorado Eagles are proud to announce that veteran forward, Anthony Petrotto, will return for his final season of junior hockey for the upcoming 2018-2019 campaign. Petrotto, a Rapid City, South Dakota native, is coming off his best season in an Eagles uniform hitting career highs in goals and points at 18 and 34, respectively.
"I'm excited to come back to play my final season of junior hockey in Northern Colorado. In the past two seasons with the team, we've enjoyed great success, but haven't been able to obtain the final goal of winning the Thorne Cup. I hope this is the season for the Eagles organization and I can't wait to do whatever I can to help the team," said Petrotto, ready for the challenge of winning that final game.
The versatile forward is entering his 3rd season with the Eagles organization. In 93 games with the franchise, Petrotto has registered 65 points. The speedy forward produced 18 goals during the 2017-2018 season with 8 of those being game winning goals to lead the team.
"Anthony has been the jack of all trades for our organization. He is so responsible defensively. We ran into some tough injuries in the second half where we needed him on the back end and he rose to the occasion. Whatever the situation was, he was ready and always had success. The fact that he is so versatile and can help the team in any situation is huge. He is another big piece to our leadership group and we have high expectations for Anthony," said Head Coach and GM, Steve Haddon.
The organization has a lot of work to do to be ready for September.
